Matt Galvin: Founder/Owner/Writer
Matt Galvin is a videogame nut. He's been playing video games since 1986 when his dad was the first on the block to get the Sega master system, Alex Kidd in Wonderland anyone? Then soon after onto N.E.S, were he picked up many goombas and entered many magical doors. In 1990 he went through Casino Land on the Genesis only to jump on a dinosaurs back on Super N.E.S, that same year he got his first Gaming PC. He then found out what all the PC gamers were talking about with Wolf 3D, Doom, Doom 2 and its only kept going throughout the years. From 1983 to 2009 Matt Galvin has been a gamer.

"Basically I've had every video game system ever made, played most game on every system including PC classics like Monkey Island, Neverhood, Duke 3D, Blood, Outlaws...you name it I've probably played it."

So, to sum it up, what’s this blog about?

"I've pretty much played everything and I'll pretty much play anything as long as its fun. On this blog I hope to talk about games, what I like and don’t like and any news about this ever changing industry."

Joshua Gould: Staff Writer

Currently based in England,Josh has been interested in gaming since playing Sonic 2 on the mega drive, for his 7th birthday he was bought his first game-boy which never left his side. Growing up as a massive handheld fan, his love for consoles was sparked by a love of "Banjo Kazooie" for the N64.Since then he has owned many consoles and handhelds. He is currently in possession of a PS2, XBOX, a 360 and a Wii. Commenting on his most memorable games most memorable games, Josh regarded, Link's Awakening, which bought on holiday and being in Italian, as a favourite. Along with Viva Pinata, which bought as a game to play with his girlfriend quicklybecame an obsession in both of them. Finally, his preferred genres are RPGs, first person shooters and adventure.

"final fantasy 10 is the best in the series, as it was the one that made me aware of the series."

"Viva Pinata is the hardest game. No other game leaves you so in the dark after the tutorial as this one."

Mike van Gelder: Admin/Editor/Writer

Michael "Mike" van Gelder was born and still resides in Africa. His first gaming experience came at a very young age, when he waited desperately for his older brothers to load up the latest tape-based game onto the family ZX-Spectrum system. Not satisfied with the technicality needed to play and load the games (and not helping that he was only four and couldn't read properly), he soon saved up his allowance and invested in a "Golden China Video Game Cartridge Machine", and only years later did he realise that he had bought a rebranded Nintendo NES system. All the games were in Taiwanese, so it was purely a gameplay driven exercise in gaming.

From there, he skipped the "everybody's got one" rage of the SEGA Megadrive (Genesis for you Americans) and went onto PC gaming, developing the fine art of blowing up his brothers' ships in Star Control II (what a classic that was!) on the family PC. Year later, he won his next console, the Sony PlayStation, in a colouring competition, and was firmly hooked on the PlayStation brand from then on in.

Today, his PlayStation gathers dust in the closest, replaced by a gleaming PlayStation 3. He's a pretty wicked Guitar Hero player (plays on expert), and is interested in tracking the ebb and flow of the 7th generation of video games. He is eagerly awaiting all the big-name PS3 titles coming out in the next few months, and wonders where he will find the money to buy them all.

Kit Marlowe: Staff Writer

Kit Marlowe was an innocent young man (often mistaken for a girl) until he stumbled upon video gaming over ten long years ago. Since then he has stooped to committing countless crimes in order to fuel his terrible addiction. His favorite genres are RPGs, tactical/strategy games, and on occasion, hack-and-slash games. Being crazy young, his first system was a Gameboy at the age of five, but since then he’s garnered a PS2, XBOX, DS, PSP, and is picking up his PS3 any day now. He is absolutely convinced that one day his video game abilities will come in handy, such as guiding an army of scrappy teenage heroes through a horde of faceless evil or, in the event of being mugged, being able to yell “SKEITH!” and having a huge being will consume from his body. Aside from gaming, his hobbies include writing, bodysurfing, and watching Hulu.

Travis Wahlstedt: Admin / Staff Writer

Travis Wahlstedt has only been gaming since the PlayStation 1 after his father brought it home from the used bookstore with Frogger. Since then he has owned a PS2, GameCube, Xbox, Xbox 360, every Game Boy, PSP, and DS; but he destroyed every single one of them once he finally got the PC of his dreams.

Well ok, his 360 red ringed and he threw his GameCube out after three weeks because he despised it but everything else he sold. Now he is a 17 year old high school student who plays Audiosurf during history class on his laptop when he isn’t flirting with the ladies.

When he gets home he has giant PC rig instead of a HD TV with a console. He has played just about every PC RPG that has come out in the last three years, including Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind (which he poured 682 hours into!) Besides devoting his life to RPGs he also likes strategy games and the occasional shooter. On top of his gaming and writing Travis also enjoys going to many metal concerts and sitting down with a good fantasy book -- when he isn’t out on the town with his friends doing many a nefarious deed.

Kyle MacGregor - Writer

Kyle MacGregor grew up and currently lives in Southern California. However, he spent the majority of his teenage years living in the United Kingdom. Games have always been a part of his life and much of his childhood was spent playing the NES and SNES. Kyle absolutely fell in love with games after returning to California for college. Unlike rigorous schools in Britain, college actually allowed Kyle adequate free time to play his beloved Gamecube.

In the last year Kyle has become the proud owner of both a Wii and PlayStation 3. Aside from his undying love for the Resident Evil series; Kyle enjoys a variety of genres, and has a soft spot in his heart for mature, Japanese Wii titles which tend to not sell very well. Some of his recent favourites include the Bit.Trip series, No More Heroes, Little King’s Story, and Far Cry 2.

Chris Harper currently resides in the Midlands, England. For the past 10 years, he’s been playing countless video games on such consoles as the Sega Megadrive, Playstation 1, 2 and 3 and his beloved Xbox 360. He remembers his first game to be Street Fighter on the Playstation 1 which was the time the ‘gamer spark’ flicked in the small head of his. Years later, he came into possession of his Playstation 2 and the gamer addiction has just got stronger through-out time. When more handhelds came out and Pokemon was the new fad around the block, he deterred away from console gaming for a bit but soon coming to the realisation that handhelds weren’t for him and went back to his consoles. He currently plays the Xbox 360 and occasionally plays the Playstation 3 from time to time. He loves playing First-Person Shooters and his and everyone else’s favourite game is Call of Duty. If he isn’t gaming, he tends to spend alot of time with his beautiful girlfriend who he cherishes even more than his Xbox and Playstation. He also tends gym and plays rugby to keep in shape when he’s not headshotting people or getting some Z’s.

“What makes a good game? There’s no real way of proving if something is a good game or not. The real verdict is that if you’re enjoying the game no matter what its flaws then THAT is a good game.”
